Garboldisham Cricket Club scooped up three ‘fifers’ in Saturday’s matches (25 July 2015), one each for the 1sts, 2nds and 3rds. Rob Fuller took an excellent 5 for 33 in the first team’s decisive victory at Mattishall to leave them in a commanding position at the top of the Norfolk Alliance Division 1. The 2nds didn’t fare so well in their home game against Division 4 leaders Winterton although Jack Buckmaster took a very satisfying 5 for 49. And Peter Barnes produced a bit of his old magic for the 3rds with his mixture of looping and quicker deliveries that saw five Costessey batsmen trudging back to the pavilion. If you’re thinking that Barnsey suddenly looks 30 years younger and has grown a beard that’s because Peter wasn’t around when the picture was taken and so Gavin Barnes stepped in for him!
