Indoor team lose final

 

Indoor team lose as Bradenham Bears steal the show on Finals Night:

 

Bradenham Cricket Club proceeded to win the Breckland Indoor Cricket League for the second time after successfully beating Thetford in the semi-final and Garboldisham in the final during our 2018 Finals Evening at Thetford Leisure Centre on Sunday 16th December 2018.

 

Having qualified for Finals evening after finishing in 2nd place in Group A with victories against Swaffham, Rocklands and Saham Toney and only a single defeat against Hingham who won Group A.

 

The second semi-final saw Hingham, winners of Group A take on Garboldisham who were runner-up in group B. Garboldisham were runner-up last year so were looking to go one better this time round. Garboldisham batted first and with Allin and Tippett getting them off to a good start set a net score of 252. Slightly below par for Garboldisham having lost an unusual 7 wickets. Garboldisham started fantastically with the ball having restricted Hingham to a level 100 after taking 4 wickets in the first pair. Hingham never managed to recover from thus due to some hostile bowling from Barnes and finished on a net score of 177.

 

The final saw Bradenham take on Garboldisham. Both teams having won the competition in previous years they were looking to secure their names on the trophy for the second time. Garboldisham batted first and set a net score of 230 after a good bowling performance from Bradenham. Bradenham took the run chase right to the final over and finished on a net score of 237 and wins the final by 7 runs.
