Date for your diaries – An evening with Derek Randall

We are holding our annual ‘Sportsman’s dinner’ on Friday 11 March at Lyng Farm Barn, Garboldisham. This year our guest speaker is ex Nottinghamshire and England cricketing hero Derek Randall (pictured above). Derek was part of the Ashes winning England teams in 1977 and 78-79. During the 1977 Centenary Test he scored 174 at Melbourne against an Australian attack led by Dennis Lillee. He famously doffed his cap to Lillee, after narrowly evading a savage bouncer, stating, “No point in hitting me there, mate, there’s nothing in it.”! See picture below.

A four-course meal is included in the price of £45. For tickets, please contact Peter Barnes on 07825 351062.
