St Andrews v Garboldisham 3rds (B) NCL Div 2, May 2, 2015 St Andrews 150 all out, Garboldisham 3rds 152 for 4 For the season’s first game, Garboldisham 3rds sent a team of experience and youth against a very experienced St Andrews. Skipper for the day Peter Barnes won the toss and put the home side in to bat. Two GCC youngsters opened the bowling and Jack Simpson took two wickets in his first spell. Angus Pringle bowled steadily but any loose ball was soon sent to the boundary. Angus took a great catch off his skip’s bowling, then Tom Melvin, on his long awaited return to the club, took a further wicket. Youngster Findlay Penrose bowled a few tight overs before the elder statesmen of the team, Peter Barnes and Eddie Thorne, caused havoc to St Andrews tail with Barnsey finishing up with 5 for 19 and St Andrews 150 all out.
