Gt Melton too strong for GCC U15s

Garboldisham U15s v Gt Melton U15s, Tues 23 June 2015

On a chilly evening that felt more like September than mid-summer, the U15s came unstuck against a strong Gt Melton side. Batting first, Garboldisham reached 70 before being bowled out in the 14th over. Joe Baker (29) and Toby Culling (16) were the highest scorers and there were another 16 added in as extras. Garby were a player short so Toby’s sister, Anya Culling, who’d been quite happily scoring, had to quickly change into some kit and take to the field, only to then be out for a duck. But she took it all in good spirit. (But trust brother Toby to have filmed it. See clip below…)

It didn’t take long for Melton to chase down Garby’s total and the visitors were over the line in 7.4 overs for the loss of just one wicket which was taken by Georgie Dunkinson with a high looping ball that took out the Gt Melton batter’s stumps.

The U15 games continue to come thick and fast and on Thursday this week they face Rocklands at home in the SNCL.
