U13s in low scoring drama against H&TV

Garboldisham U13 v Hethersett and Tas Valley U13, Wednesday 13 May, 2015. SNCL

Garboldisham U13s hosted Hethersett and Tas Valley yesterday evening in their first South Norfolk Community League fixture. Garboldisham opted to bat and unfortunately got off to a tricky start with wickets being lost quickly in the first 3 overs. Jess Davey and Max Champion steadied the innings and batted well but the runs didn’t come easily. Tas valley bowled and fielded really well and kept things tight making it harder for Garboldisham batters to score. David Thorne added some valuable runs at the end, guiding Garboldisham to a score of 42 for 6 off their overs.

Garboldisham started their bowling brilliantly with Eleanor Pringle and David bowling some tight first overs. Jess, Max and Luca Morley also kept things tight making it hard for Tas valley to chase the low score. George Self got the break through with a wicket and two other great run outs by Ethan Everson-Germany and David kept things very interesting in the field, helped by captain/keeper Arthur Johnson who did a great job. Tas Valley got the runs in the 12th over but Garby made it very difficult for them. Despite losing there was some great improvements in the bowling from Garboldisham and some super fielding, well played both teams!
